Chart Settings#

Chart Settings is the modal where you configure an individual chart: what it shows, how it looks, and how its scales behave. It has seven tabs, Symbol, Status line, Scales and lines, Themes, Canvas, Bar Types, and Footprint, though you won't always see all seven. Bar Types only shows up on one of the seven pattern chart types (Renko, Line Break, Point & Figure, Range Bars, Kagi, N-Bar Aggregate, Tick Chart), and Footprint only shows up on a Footprint chart. Opening it#

• Click the Settings tile in the chart toolbar.
• Right-click the chart body and choose Settings.
• Right-click the header and choose Settings.
• Right-click the price axis (long-press it on mobile) and choose Scale Settings…. This opens straight to Scales and lines.
• Right-click the time axis (long-press it on mobile) and choose More settings…. This also opens to Scales and lines.

Any other way in opens on the Canvas tab.

On desktop it's a 780×520 panel with the tabs down the left side. On a phone it's a bottom sheet, with the tabs scrolling horizontally across the top.

Reset, Cancel, Apply#

Every change you make in the panel is staged, not live. Apply commits everything across all tabs at once. Cancel discards the staged changes and closes the panel. Reset puts every tab back to its factory defaults, including Footprint and Bar Types.

Symbol#

Two groups.

Description. One field, Symbol Description: free text you can use to label the chart, for example "Bitcoin Perpetual".

Symbol Info. Read-only: Symbol, Exchange, Type (always "Crypto Perpetual"), and Currency (always "USD"). These describe the instrument, they don't change it. To trade a different symbol, use the symbol picker, not this tab.

Timezone doesn't live on this tab anymore. Your timezone is now set once, app-wide, from the top-bar clock, not per chart.

Status line#

Five groups of toggles. Each one shows or hides a piece of the chart's header and status row. A few rows nest children that only take effect while their parent is on.

• Symbol & Data. Show Symbol & Exchange (one toggle for both pills) and Show Description.
• OHLC Values. Show OHLC nests Show Open, Show High, Show Low, and Show Close (all disabled while Show OHLC is off). Show Change % sits alongside Show OHLC rather than under it, because it also drives the price row's 24h percentage, a separate figure that Show OHLC doesn't touch.
• Volume & Price. Show Volume, Show Bid/Ask, Show Funding Rate, Show Open Interest, and Show 24h Stats.
• Indicators. Show Indicator Names nests Show Indicator Values and Show Indicator Arguments (both only matter inside a legend row, so they do nothing while names are off).
• Toolbar. Show Screenshot, Show Copy Chart, Show Download, Show Share, and Show Settings. Each controls whether that toolbar tile can appear at all. A tile still needs to be pinned to show inline instead of in the toolbar's overflow menu.

Show Description, Show Funding Rate, Show Open Interest, and Show 24h Stats start off. Everything else in this tab starts on.

Scales and lines#

Price Scale. Position (Right, Left, or Both), Log Scale, Auto Scale, and Percentage. Turning Percentage on reveals Percentage Base, either Visible range (the default, matching most other charting tools) or Session open, the older UTC-midnight convention. Also here: Index Line and Invert Scale.

Interaction. Zoom Speed, from 0.1x to 5.0x in steps of 0.1. Default is 1.0x.

Time Scale. Countdown to Bar Close, and once it's on, a Countdown Style of Text or Bar.

Event Markers. One toggle per marker source, so you can trust one source and not another. Today there's a single source, Funding Settlements.

Sessions. Show Separators, with a Separator Color once it's on, and Session Highlight. Only for symbols with real trading hours (stocks, not crypto), a segmented Trading hours control (Off, RTH, or Extended) also appears, with Pre-Market, Regular Hours, and After Hours color pickers. For symbols without trading hours, all three highlight colors show whenever Session Highlight is on.

Themes#

A gallery of named color palettes for the chart. Above the grid sits Follow app theme, not a palette itself but an opt-out: pick it and the chart's candle and volume colors track your active app theme instead of a fixed set of hex values. Below it, a 3-column grid of ten fixed palettes: Tracer, Graphite, Midnight, Terminal, Ember, Oceanic, Nebula, Accessible, Slate, and Ink.

Hover a card to preview it live on the chart behind the panel. The panel fades to make room for the preview, unless you turn off Dim panel while previewing. Click a card (or focus it and press Enter or Space) to select it. The preview becomes your staged choice, which still needs Apply to take effect. Move the pointer off the gallery without clicking and the chart goes back to whatever it had before you started browsing.

If the app-wide colorblind palette is active, a note above the gallery reminds you that candle and volume colors are overridden regardless of which theme you pick.

Canvas#

Chart Basic Styles. Background (Solid or Gradient) with a Color, and a Gradient-to color when Gradient is selected. Grid Lines (Both, Horizontal, Vertical, or None) with a Grid Color. Crosshair color and Crosshair Style (Both, Horizontal, Vertical, or None).

Scales. Text color and Font Size, 8 to 12px. Default is 10px.

Accessibility. Candle palette, a select with three options. Use global setting inherits the app-wide colorblind setting from the Theme menu. Red / Green forces this chart's candles to the standard palette regardless of the global setting. Blue / Orange (colorblind) forces this chart onto the colorblind palette regardless of the global setting. This is a per-chart override on top of an app-wide setting, not a replacement for it. Turning colorblind mode on globally remaps market colors, candles, volume, footprint, and indicators, everywhere at once, and this control only lets one chart opt out of, or opt into, that global choice.

Bars. Bar width, a slider that scales the candle body's thickness.

Candle Colors. Up, Down, Up Border, and Down Border, each with a hex field and a swatch of color presets backed by a recents bucket shared with the drawing tools' color pickers. A status row above the four colors reads "Following theme colors" while the chart hasn't been given its own palette, or "Custom candle colors" plus a Match theme button once it has. Click Match theme to drop the override and go back to following the active theme. Editing any of the four colors directly counts as an override. While the colorblind palette is active, from either this chart's own setting or the app-wide one, all four rows dim and a note explains they're overridden.

Volume. Show Volume, plus Up Volume and Down Volume colors with the same hex field, presets, and colorblind dimming as Candle Colors. Changing either also counts as overriding the chart's colors, the same as editing a candle color does.

Color presets. Two bulk actions on this chart's current color block (the four candle colors, the two volume colors, and whether the block is following the theme). This section only appears when the workspace can support it. Apply to all charts copies the block to every other chart in the workspace. It asks for confirmation first, and only appears with two or more charts open. Save as default for new charts seeds every chart you create afterward with this block. Once you've saved a default, a Reset to app default link appears to clear it.

Margins. Top and Bottom, both a percentage of chart height. Right, a number of empty bars reserved past the last candle.

Bar Types#

Sizing controls for the seven pattern chart types. Only the group for your chart's current type renders. The tab itself only shows up on those seven types in the first place, so you never see controls for a pattern you aren't on.

A size field left at 0 sizes itself from the data instead of using a fixed number. Renko, Point & Figure, Range Bars, and Kagi each derive their size from ATR or a percent of price. See Chart Types for more on how the pattern types size themselves.

Source Bars per Bar and Trades per Bar look similar but count different things. N-Bar Aggregate merges whole source candles from your current timeframe, so a count of 100 on a 1-minute chart makes 100-minute bars. Tick Chart counts real trades off the venue's live trade feed instead, so its bars close purely on trade volume, independent of your timeframe. They're separate settings on purpose. Sharing one number between them would silently reinterpret whichever chart type you opened second.
