Orderbook Heatmap#
A time-and-price heatmap of resting order-book liquidity behind the candles, green for bids and red for asks, so you can see where the big walls sit and how they build or pull.
TODO: screenshot of the Orderbook Heatmap behind the candles (green bid walls, red ask walls).
What it shows#
Tracer records order-book depth over time and paints each price level by how much resting size sat there, brighter for thicker liquidity. Bid-heavy cells use a green ramp and ask-heavy cells a red one. This is standing book depth, where limit orders are parked, not executed trades or volume.
How to read it#
Read it like a heat-of-the-book view. Bright green bands below price are stacked bid walls, potential support where resting buyers sit. Bright red bands above price are ask walls, potential resistance. A band lit across many columns is a persistent wall, so watch whether price is pulled toward it or rejects off it. A wall that suddenly goes dark is liquidity being pulled or filled, and that often precedes a fast move through the level. Raise the minimum order size to strip retail noise and isolate the whale walls.
Settings#
- Data source. Live streams Hyperliquid depth from this session. Stored reads the multi-venue depth archive, the only way to see history from before you opened the chart.
- View and venues. On the stored path, choose a single venue or union several of the recorded venues.
- Min order size. A dollar-size floor. Raise it to keep only the large walls.
- Min intensity, gamma, colors, opacity. Tune which cells show and how strongly the heatmap sits over the candles.
Live mode is Hyperliquid only and starts empty each time you open or reload the chart, filling in as snapshots arrive. The multi-venue historical depth is a coarse, recent-only recording, so Stored mode may come back empty on some markets. Today this is mainly a live Hyperliquid depth view.
